Meet Auburn Alumnae, Patricia Schubert Barnes, lovingly known as “Sister Schubert,” and daughter, Chrissie Schubert Duffy Saturday, November 13 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at AuburnArt.com. Join them for a confectionery sampling as they showcase their culinary skills, featuring Chrissie Schubert’s Homemade Treats, exclusive line of Auburn cookies. As a highlight, Sister Schubert will be signing her book, “Cast Your Bread Upon The Waters,” a comprehensive recipe book featuring recipes on baking breads for everyday and special occasions.
As well as producing 5 million rolls daily, Barnes serves Auburn University as a visiting executive in the Lowder School of Business, a member of the Women’s Philanthropy Board and a member of the Dean’s Board of the College of Human Sciences. She is the Culinary Ambassador for the state of Alabama, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Alabama Women’s Hall of Fame.
In 2004 with the encouragement of her mother, Chrissie opened her own bakery business, Chrissie Schubert’s Homemade Treats. Chrissie’s Auburn cookies include designs of Samford Hall, tigers, crosses and Auburn daisies. She will also be debut a line of granola products new to AuburnArt.com.
