Meet Our Auburn Art Family
After I graduated from Auburn, I moved to Denver, Colo., to attend the Art Institute of Colorado, where I received a degree in 2010 in photography, specializing in landscape and advertising. After that graduation, I moved back to Auburn and shot freelance advertising photography for about six months until I bought Auburn Art.
Want to know a little more about Cliff? You got it…What did you want to be when you were younger?
I always wanted to be an inventor! I even tried to build my own rocket pack when I was younger, until I was forced to stop for my own safety! What three words best describe you?
Creative, adventurous and jolly. If you could learn to do anything you wanted, what would it be and why?
I would want to learn to play the piano. I have always been amazed at the talent it takes to create music. What is your first Auburn memory?
I remember playing football on the library lawn when I was really little. My dad would draw out the play on his hand for me, and then I would pretend to be playing in an actual game!
Our Story - Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Hare
Emily and I first met when she came to Auburn Art in the summer of 2011 for Auburn’s SummerNight Art Walk to display the clothing and jewelry line she and her sister had started. We became friends, but it wasn’t until that following February that we went on our first date. Shortly after we began dating, Emily started her internship at Auburn Art. A year later I proposed, and we were married in September 2013!
I moved to Auburn in January 2009 and studied Science at Southern Union until I moved back to Sheffield to study Apparel Merchandising at the University of North Alabama. In the summer of 2012, I returned to Auburn for an internship with Auburn Art, where I ended up staying to work.
Want to know more about Emily? You got it…What three words best describe you?
Boisterous, goofy and headstrong.Which character from a book describes you best?
Lucy from “The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe,” because she is adventurous and doesn’t let anyone hold her back.If you could learn to do anything you wanted, what would it be and why?
Paint. I have so much respect for people with artistic talents.
The Auburn Art Dogs
Hi! We’re Mogli and Wicket, the dogs behind Auburn Art! When we’re not chasing our tails, begging for treats or sunning ourselves in the back yard, we’re helping our mom and dad run the store. Mogli is an Golden Retriever who is the old, wise canine voice of the family. Wicket, an Irish Wolfhound, is the sweetest dog you’ll ever meet, even though his large physique and scruffy fur may be a little intimidating. We’re Auburn dogs through and through, even though we haven’t quite mastered barking “Botta Getta.” We hope you’ll come by Auburn Art and see our mom and dad!
